Privacy Policy

In short

Hissi has no account, no ads, no tracking and no analytics. We, the developers, do not collect or store any personal data. Everything the app knows stays on your device and in your own iCloud.

What the app processes

Favorites. The elevators you star are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, the app also keeps the same list in your iCloud key-value store so it appears on your other devices and survives a reinstall. That store belongs to your Apple account; we have no access to it. Apple’s privacy policy applies.

Location. Only when you tap “show nearby stations” or ask the map for your position does the app request your location. It is used on the device alone, to sort nearby stations and to show you on the map, and is neither stored nor transmitted. The “Nearby” widget uses the same permission through the system.

Elevator data. Status data comes from transit.accessibility.cloud, a service run by Sozialhelden e.V. On every refresh the app sends the identifiers of your favorites to that service so it can return their status, along with your IP address and the app language as a technical consequence. Station search runs locally against a catalog the app downloads in advance; search terms are not transmitted. The Sozialhelden privacy policy governs that service.

Maps. Map snippets and Look Around come from Apple Maps, which receives the station coordinates; Apple’s privacy policy applies.

Siri and Shortcuts. The shortcuts run on the device. What you say to Siri is handled by Apple under its own terms.

Android version. On Android there is no iCloud copy; favorites live on the device only. Map snippets and Street View come from the Google Maps SDK, which sends the station coordinates and device-related identifiers to Google; Google’s privacy policy applies. Disruption alerts are generated locally on the device, without a push service.

Recent searches, settings, cache. Stay on the device, can be cleared in the app and disappear with an uninstall.

Export. “Export favorites” creates a file only when you ask for it; what you do with it is up to you.

What the app does not do

No usage statistics, no crash reports to us (Apple crash reports only if you enabled them in iOS), no advertising identifiers, no sharing with third parties beyond the services named above.

This website

This website sets no cookies and embeds no third-party services; it serves its fonts and images itself. When you load it, the hosting provider (bunny.net, BunnyWay d.o.o., Slovenia) processes your IP address in server logs as a technical necessity; its privacy policy applies.

Your rights

Since we store no personal data, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete. You delete your favorites and settings in the app yourself, and your iCloud data through your device’s iCloud settings. For questions, use the address above or support.

Changes

If the data processing changes, we update this page and the date at the top. The current version lives at the address linked from the app and the stores.
